Synopsis
Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 (1972) is Shunya Ito's Japanese crime-action film, and it's well worth a watch online on iFILM. This second chapter of the cult series stars Meiko Kaji as the silent convict known as Scorpion.
Matsu has rotted in an isolation cell for nearly a year, saying nothing, waiting. When the sadistic warden marches the women out to brutal labor, she seizes the chaos and breaks free alongside six other inmates. What follows is a cross-country run through mountains and dead villages, each escapee dragging her own past behind her. Kaji barely speaks the entire film; her Scorpion works through a stare, a blade and an almost inhuman stubbornness, and that mute fury became the signature of the role.
Ito doesn't settle for a standard prison picture — this is rage rendered in theatrical tableaux, acid colors and frames that Tarantino and a wave of imitators later lifted wholesale. Harsh, stylish, and built for fans of Japanese grindhouse and pure screen vengeance. Stream Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 (1972) online on iFILM.
