Gigantic

Gigantic (2008) is Matt Aselton's offbeat comedy-drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Brian (Paul Dano) is a 28-year-old who sells high-end mattresses and has quietly filed papers to adopt a baby girl from China.

Then a woman wanders into the showroom, flops onto a display bed and falls asleep. She's Harriet (Zooey Deschanel), wealthy and a little adrift, and the two slip into a hesitant romance while her loud, larger-than-life father (John Goodman) hovers at the edges. Stranger still, a hitman keeps trying to kill Brian — a thread the film treats as almost routine, never bothering to explain it. Aselton's debut runs on mood rather than plot: a slow, deadpan indie with Ed Asner, Jane Alexander and Zach Galifianakis tucked into the margins.
