Synopsis

On the day of Delia's wedding to a wealthy banker, her former sweetheart Clem Spender arrives after two years at war. She's already spoken for. Charlotte is the one who comforts him. A child is born — Tina — and Clem dies at the front before he ever knows. Charlotte hides her daughter inside a charity home for war orphans and hopes to move on with her life. Delia knows everything and intends to use it.
