Synopsis
Our House (2018) is a Canadian-German horror film directed by Anthony Scott Burns — watch it online on iFILM. Thomas Mann plays Ethan, a MIT student who drops everything after his parents die in a car accident to raise his younger siblings in the family home.
To keep himself together, he keeps working on his project: a homemade electromagnetic device that was supposed to be a scientific breakthrough. It turns out to be something else entirely. The machine amplifies paranormal activity throughout the house. At first it seems to summon his parents — or something that wears their shape. Then comes whatever else was listening.
Burns earns his scares through atmosphere rather than shocks — long silences, odd angles, the creeping sense that grief is doing exactly what the device is doing. Nicola Peltz and the younger cast sell the family dynamic without sentiment.
