Synopsis

Their passion flares so openly that her husband chooses to look the other way, and Emma and Nelson end up living as man and wife while each remains married to someone else.
The romance plays out against the wars with Napoleon, and it ends where the admiral falls — off Cape Trafalgar, at the very hour of his greatest victory. Korda shot the picture in the United States as the Second World War raged, and Nelson's patriotic speeches landed as a direct appeal to wartime audiences; it's long been remembered as Churchill's favorite film.
