Synopsis
The Ministry of Time (El Ministerio del Tiempo, 2015), Season 1 is the Spanish time-travel adventure you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes built on a clever premise. A secret government body guards a network of doors into the past and makes sure no one rewrites Spanish history.
Its field patrol is stitched together from three eras: present-day paramedic Julián, 1880s student Amelia, and 16th-century soldier Alonso. Each episode is its own jump. The trio stops two Frenchmen from flipping the 1808 war, keeps Lope de Vega alive long enough to write his best plays, and foils a scheme to hand Himmler the secret of time travel. Later missions chase a stolen bill of sale for Picasso's "Guernica," hunt a fugitive through 1520 Salamanca, and race to prevent the murder of Isabel II. Threaded underneath runs Julián's grief and the quiet politics inside the Ministry itself.
