Synopsis
Trainwreck: Woodstock '99 (2022) is a British-American documentary series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jamie Crawford.
In the summer of 1999, promoters John Scher and Michael Lang — co-creator of the original 1969 festival — staged a revival at a decommissioned air base in Rome, New York. Two hundred thousand people, three days, a lineup including Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers. By the final night, vendor stalls were burning, the stage was being torn apart by the crowd, and the event had produced a long list of incidents no one fully agreed on.
The series reconstructs events through first-person accounts from Jewel, Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Jonathan Davis of Korn, and others who were there. Less a nostalgia document than a forensic look at how a commercial concert machine failed the people inside it. Stream Trainwreck: Woodstock '99 online on iFILM.
