Synopsis
The third chapter of the beloved Canadian adaptation, Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story (2000), is available to watch online on iFILM. Megan Follows returns as Anne Shirley — no longer the red-haired orphan of Avonlea, but a woman in her twenties heading to New York with Gilbert Blythe (Jonathan Crombie) at her side.
Gilbert takes a hospital post; Anne lands at a publishing house. Neither gets what they expected. Her manuscript is stolen by a charming American writer, and when the First World War breaks out, Gilbert ships out to Europe. Director Stefan Scaini pulls the story far from the pastoral warmth of the earlier installments, tracing Anne and Gilbert's path through wartime and back to Prince Edward Island.
