Bride of the Monster
More horrifying than "DRACULA"..."FRANKENSTEIN"
Synopsis
Bride of the Monster (1955) is Ed Wood's low-budget horror cheapie you can watch online on iFILM. Mad scientist Dr. Vornoff toys with atomic energy in his swamp lair, dreaming up a race of supermen — and keeping a giant octopus on hand for good measure.
Bela Lugosi, in one of his final roles, plays Vornoff with a doom-laden gravity the film does nothing to earn — which is exactly why it sticks with you. Wrestler Tor Johnson lumbers through as the mute brute Lobo. A nosy reporter pokes into the scientist's haunted house, the rubber octopus refuses to move, and the whole thing falls apart with a charm you can't fake.
Edward D. Wood Jr. went down in history as the director who could never quite pull it off, and this is a prime cut of his lovably inept cinema. Watch it for the cult status and for Lugosi: so bad it loops back around to wonderful. Stream Bride of the Monster (1955) online on iFILM.
