Archenemy

Archenemy (2020) is a gritty sci-fi thriller from director Adam Egypt Mortimer, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Max Fist (Joe Manganiello) is a broke, hard-drinking drifter who swears he's a superhero from another dimension, dumped on Earth and stripped of his powers. Nobody buys it.

The one person who listens is a street kid called Hamster, desperate to film viral content about a "real-life hero." Together with his sister Indigo, he pulls the washed-up Max into a fight against a local drug crew — and suddenly the fists and the bloodshed are very real. The film keeps you guessing on purpose: fading champion, or just a delusional alcoholic. Jagged editing, hand-drawn comic-panel inserts and surprisingly brutal violence drag the story far from polished cape-and-cowl fare.
