Synopsis

Orphaned when Vesuvius buries Pompeii, young Timo is taken in by a general and packed off to the city's gladiator academy. One problem: he has zero interest in fighting and would rather laze around. Then Lucilla turns up. Smitten, the gangly slacker decides he'll become a Colosseum champion to win her over. Diana, goddess of the hunt and a no-nonsense trainer, takes charge of his lessons, while a ragtag bunch of fellow misfits tags along for the ride.
