Synopsis
Kim Ji-young: Born 1982 (82년생 김지영, 2019) is a South Korean drama you can watch online on iFILM. From the outside, Ji-young in her thirties has the expected life — schooling, a job, marriage, a daughter. Inside there's a hollow she spent years not naming.
Then she starts speaking in other women's voices — her mother's, her grandmother's, a woman long dead — as if living their lives in place of her own. Her husband, played by Gong Yoo, notices first and has no idea what to do. Jung Yu-mi keeps Ji-young quiet and precise: an exhausted woman whose buried resentment surfaces the only way it can.
Director Kim Do-young's debut adapts Cho Nam-joo's novel, a million-copy bestseller that split Korea into shouting camps. The film stays small on purpose and lands through recognition — the career ceilings, the in-laws' remarks, a thousand small cuts that add up to one life.
