Synopsis
Fate/Grand Order: First Order (2016) is an anime feature you can watch online on iFILM, spun off from the wildly popular mobile game. The year is 2015, the last age in which magic still functions — and the future that humanity has been tracking suddenly vanishes off the map.
The Chaldea organization runs the numbers and they're brutal: the human race goes extinct in 2017, with the trigger hidden in Fuyuki, a small Japanese town, back in 2004, where a "singularity" surfaces that was never supposed to exist. So begins the Grand Order — a leap through time to seize the Holy Grail. Rookie mage Ritsuka Fujimaru and the servant Mash Kyrielight get thrown straight onto the front line. Director Hitoshi Namba squeezes the opening of a sprawling franchise into eighty minutes: a doorway for newcomers, an animated prologue for players who already know the campaign by heart.
