Synopsis
Tickled (2016) is a New Zealand documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Journalist David Farrier trips over clips of bizarre "competitive endurance tickling" online and figures it's good for a quick, harmless news item.
What he gets back is a wall of legal threats. The harder someone works to shut Farrier and his co-director Dylan Reeve up, the further the thread unspools: fake accounts, paid flights for young men, ruined reputations, and one figure who spent years pulling strings from the shadows. A goofy premise curdles into a story about money, control, and online intimidation.
The film doesn't run on suspense so much as on creeping disbelief — every new fact makes the silly subject feel colder. Great pick if you like investigations that play like a true-crime podcast brought to the screen, and a reminder of what a single tip can drag into the light.
