Synopsis
A Missing Part (Une part manquante, 2024) is a French-Japanese drama you can watch online on iFILM. For nine years, Frenchman Jay has driven a Tokyo taxi, scanning the faces in traffic for one of them: his daughter, Lily.
After the divorce, the Japanese courts never granted him custody, and his visits dried up. With hope nearly spent, he's packing to head back to France — and then Lily climbs into his cab like any other fare. She doesn't recognize him. What to do with these accidental minutes beside her, whether to speak, to confess or to stay quiet, is something he has to settle right there at the wheel, knowing each choice could be the last.
Director Guillaume Senez crafts a hushed study of parenthood caught between two cultures, where a French father's instinct to push collides with a system that leaves him almost no rights at all.
