Synopsis
"Run Boy Run" (Lauf Junge lauf, 2014) is a German war drama by Pepe Danquart you can watch online on iFILM. Eight-year-old Jurek escapes from the Warsaw Ghetto alone after losing his family. He has no plan — only that stopping means dying.
To pass as a Polish orphan, he buries his name, learns to pray on cue, and irons the accent out of his speech. Farm families take him in, each time briefly, because the risk of sheltering him is fatal. Kamil Tkacz plays Jurek with a stillness that reads as true: no theatrical suffering, just a boy applying what he knows to each new problem.
The film is based on Uri Orlev's novel, drawn from the real account of Yoram Friedman, a Holocaust survivor who spent his childhood hiding in occupied Poland. Danquart keeps the direction lean — no swelling score, no melodrama, just roads and forests and the constant pressure of a child who cannot afford to be recognized.
