Synopsis
Next Sohee (다음 소희, 2022) is a Korean drama-thriller worth watching online on iFILM. High-schooler Sohee is placed in a mandatory call-center internship at a big firm. She's quick, full of life, and just wants to earn her keep. A few weeks later, she's gone.
What broke her is what detective Yu-jin — played by Bae Doona — sets out to understand. Her suspect isn't a killer but a machine: sales quotas at any cost, supervisors leaning on teenagers, gag clauses in contracts, managers burying the body count under paperwork. The first half lives inside Sohee's days; the second follows the woman who refuses to log her death as an accident. That hard cut down the middle is where the tension lives.
Director July Jung built the story from a real case — a vocational student who died under similar pressure near Jeonju in 2017. The film closed Cannes Critics' Week and aims straight at the seam where labor law meets a child's life. It's slow, heavy, and unsparing — no easy night in, but it stays with you.
