Synopsis
Stockholm, Pennsylvania (2015) is a psychological drama you can watch online on iFILM, the feature debut of writer-director Nikole Beckwith. Saoirse Ronan plays Leia, taken at age four and handed back to her parents seventeen years later.
The family that waited for her treats the return as a miracle, but the house feels like another cell. Her mother Marcy (Cynthia Nixon) pushes for closeness to reclaim the lost years, her father keeps his distance, and Leia herself aches for the only man she ever called dad — Ben, her captor (Jason Isaacs). The title nods to Stockholm syndrome, and the film quietly picks apart what captivity does to a mind and what freedom even means once the door is open.
Shot in close quarters and tight close-ups, it leans almost entirely on Ronan's face. One for viewers who want a hushed, uncomfortable drama that refuses easy resolution. Stream Stockholm, Pennsylvania (2015) online on iFILM.
