Synopsis
The thriller-horror The Haunting of Sharon Tate (2019) is ready to watch online on iFILM. Director Daniel Farrands builds it around one of Hollywood's most notorious tragedies — the final days of actress Sharon Tate, wife of Roman Polanski, in the summer of 1969.
Hilary Duff takes the lead role. Nine months pregnant, her Tate waits for her husband to return from Europe at the house on Cielo Drive, and dreams of her own death keep returning to her. The nearer the fatal night draws, the heavier the dread grows: strange shapes at the gate, fragments of nightmares, the sense of being watched. Farrands deliberately steps away from the historical record and reshapes the real story into a grim fantasy about fate and whether it can be cheated.
A fair warning is in order: this is a divisive film. Many found its loose handling of a real victim's memory questionable, and not every viewer will sit comfortably with it. It isn't a documentary reconstruction but a genre reading that flirts with the line of good taste — with its own anxious mood and an unusual angle on a familiar horror. If dark stories drawn from real events appeal to you and you can accept the liberties, stream The Haunting of Sharon Tate (2019) online on iFILM.
