Synopsis

Sugimoto, a Russo-Japanese War veteran nicknamed the Immortal, learns of a hidden cache of Ainu gold, its map tattooed in pieces across the bodies of escaped convicts. He teams up with Asirpa (Anna Yamada), a young Ainu hunter who knows the forest and her people's ways. Army deserters and a cold-blooded tactician chase the same fortune, and the result is a bloody scramble where slapstick sits right next to dismemberment, and a scene of cooking wild game gets as much care as a shootout.
