Synopsis

Sub-Saharan Africa, Russia, Shanghai to Tibet: that's Season 3 of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (2007) — fifteen episodes, watch online on iFILM.

Ghana and Namibia are the most unusual entries in the run — less focused on cuisine, more on survival and the legacy of colonialism. Russia means another trip with Zamir, including a dinner with a former intelligence officer. Shanghai sends Bourdain deeper into China than before, tracking toward Tibet and the elusive idea of Shangri-La. Andrew Zimmern takes the guide role for the New York episode, and the shift in perspective works. Cleveland earns its spot because Michael Ruhlman argued for it relentlessly; the episode is better than anyone expected.

Fifteen episodes means uneven pacing — some legs stronger than others. Ghana, Russia, and the Shanghai-Tibet stretch are what Season 3 is remembered for. Stream Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Season 3 all episodes online on iFILM.
