Synopsis
Paradise: Love (Paradies: Liebe, 2012) is an Austrian drama you can watch online on iFILM, the first film in Ulrich Seidl's Paradise trilogy.
Teresa is fifty, traveling alone to Kenya on vacation. The beach there runs on a particular economy: young Kenyan men known as beach boys keep company with European women who pay for it. Everyone understands the transaction. Teresa understands it too, and still lets herself hope for something else. Seidl shoots in long, fixed takes — no ironic distance, no cut-away mercy, just a camera that watches without flinching.
