Cocaine Cowboys: Reloaded
How Miami became the cocaine capital of the United States!
Synopsis
Cocaine Cowboys: Reloaded (2014) is the expanded cut of Billy Corben's landmark crime documentary — watch it online on iFILM. The original Cocaine Cowboys landed in 2006 and rewrote how American audiences understood the cartel era; Reloaded folds in hundreds of hours of additional interviews and archival news footage that didn't make the first edit.
The story is set in early-1980s Miami, when Colombian traffickers turned the city into the cocaine and murder capital of the country. Banks couldn't process the cash fast enough. The kill count rivaled Prohibition-era Chicago. Corben builds the film around first-person testimony: hitman Jorge "Rivi" Ayala, trafficker Jon Roberts and smuggler Mickey Munday speak on camera with the kind of directness that courtroom transcripts rarely capture. Griselda Blanco — the Medellín Cartel's so-called godmother — gets her own chapter, and it's the most chilling one.
At 152 minutes it runs long, but it earns the time. Stream Cocaine Cowboys: Reloaded online on iFILM.
