Synopsis
The Editor (2014) is a Canadian horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Co-directed by Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy, it is a straight-faced parody of 1970s Italian giallo — and both men cast themselves in the lead roles.
Once the finest film editor in the business, the protagonist lost four fingers under circumstances he'd rather not revisit. He now cuts footage with wooden prosthetics on the low end of Rome's movie industry — until bodies start turning up on set. A hardboiled detective decides the editor is the obvious suspect. Paz de la Huerta and Udo Kier round out a cast that appears to be in on the joke. The film is less a horror movie and more an act of love for Argento and Fulci — acid colours, deliberately bad dubbing, dead-serious delivery of absurd lines. Stream The Editor online on iFILM.
