Synopsis
The Best in Hell (2022) is a Russian war action film you can watch online for its harsh, almost documentary take on urban combat. An assault team led by a soldier with the call sign Polygon is handed one order: seize a high-rise in the city center where the enemy has dug in for good.
Tanks and infantry vehicles were supposed to make it easier, but heavy fire, large-caliber mortars and attack drones quickly strip away any advantage. The fight grinds floor by floor, long-range artillery joins in, and Polygon's men keep thinning out. When the other side decides to simply bring the building down, the mission starts to look impossible.
It was directed by Andrey Batov and features Alexey Kravchenko, known to many from Come and See. The movie leans on the grim texture of a modern assault rather than plot twists — the mud, the crackle of radio chatter, the price of every meter. Bleak and not for everyone.
