Атомные бомбы: Тринити и что было потом
Synopsis
Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie (1995) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Peter Kuran and narrated by William Shatner.
The film charts the American nuclear testing program from the Trinity detonation in New Mexico in July 1945 through the period just before atmospheric testing ended under treaty. What sets it apart is the source material: classified government footage from multiple countries, much of it released to the public here for the first time, gathered by Kuran from archives across several governments. Two physicists — Edward Teller and Frank Shelton — are the only interview subjects, men who designed and commanded the program, describing it in precise technical terms. The score is performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
Kuran doesn't editorialize. The film lays out what was tested and how, letting the footage carry whatever weight the viewer brings to it. Stream Trinity and Beyond (1995) online on iFILM.
