Synopsis

Prince Myshkin (Yevgeny Mironov) arrives in St. Petersburg from a Swiss psychiatric clinic — gentle, transparent and wholly unprepared for what the city has to offer. On the train he meets Rogozhin, consumed by passion for the reckless Nastasya Filippovna; in the capital Myshkin is drawn into a tangle of pride, debt and desire that none of them will survive intact. Lidia Velezheva, Olga Budina, Inna Churikova and Oleg Basilashvili form an ensemble that plays like a theatre company that has lived with this novel for years.
