Life After People
Welcome to Earth... Population: Zero.
Synopsis
Life After People (2008) — watch online on iFILM. A History Channel documentary that runs one thought experiment from start to finish: humanity vanishes overnight, no reason given. What happens to everything we leave behind?
Scientists answer in concrete terms. Power grids fail within days. Without maintenance, bridges corrode and buckle within decades. Give it a few centuries and the Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, the Sears Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge have all gone to rubble. Director David De Vries illustrates each stage with detailed CGI of the real landmarks — the kind of visual that makes the timescales land.
No disaster, no survivors, no plot — just a calm, systematic case for how temporary cities actually are. The film inspired a two-season History Channel series, but the original feature is worth ninety-four minutes on its own. Stream Life After People (2008) on iFILM.
