Bastards

Bastards (Сволочи, 2006) is a Russian WWII action drama directed by Aleksandr Atanesyan — watch it online on iFILM. It's 1943. Soviet intelligence rounds up orphaned street kids and teenage criminals and ships them to a classified mountain camp, where instructors played by Andrei Panin and Andrei Krasko drill them into saboteurs bound for enemy lines.

Based on Vladimir Kunin's novel of the same name, the film draws an uncomfortable parallel to the Hitler Youth — same age, different flag. Atanesyan refuses to frame these boys as either victims or heroes. Each arrives with a hard street history, and by the time the mission brief comes, you know every face. Rated 16+.
