Synopsis
Tulipani: Love, Honour and a Bicycle (2017), a romantic comedy from Dutch director Mike van Diem, is now available to watch online on iFILM. After the North Sea floods of 1953 swallow his farm whole, a stubborn Dutch farmer pedals south — all the way to the scorched heel of Italy.
He arrives in Puglia with a plan the locals find baffling: grow tulips in summer soil that cracks underfoot. Yet he stays, falls in love and quietly becomes the most unlikely fixture in a small Italian town. Gijs Neyber and Giancarlo Giannini lead the cast in this Canadian-Italian-Dutch co-production.
Van Diem's previous feature, Character, took home the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1997; Tulipani marks his comeback two decades later. It's a warm, unhurried film about losing everything and landing exactly where you were supposed to be. Stream it online on iFILM.
