Synopsis
Little Sister (2016) is Zach Clark's indie tragicomedy, and you can watch online on iFILM. Colleen is a novice nun on the verge of taking her vows, but her Mother Superior isn't convinced she's ready and sends her home to North Carolina for five days first.
Home greets her with her old bedroom untouched: black walls, metal posters, every trace of the punk goth she used to be. Addison Timlin plays a young woman caught between two selves; Ally Sheedy is her erratic, pill-leaning mother. Her older brother came back from Iraq disfigured and has shut himself away in the guesthouse, barely speaking to anyone. To shake the family out of its fog, the soon-to-be nun has to dig up her old habits — the makeup, the music, the goofy rebellion. Clark keeps the tone balanced between funny and aching, skipping both sermons and sentimentality, with the 2008 election and a tired country humming in the background. It's a small, warm film for fans of American indie comebacks. Stream Little Sister (2016) online on iFILM.
