Synopsis
"About This Very Thing" (2025) — watch online on iFILM, a Russian comedy series directed by Evgeniy Abyzov about a young doctor whose village wasn't quite ready for him.
Eight years of medical school in St. Petersburg. Mitya finally comes home — and his village of Ozyornoye expected a surgeon. They got a psychiatrist-sexologist. The locals coined a nickname immediately: "the pussy doctor." His own father threatened to disown him. But Mitya isn't going anywhere: he can see how much damage the village's generations-long silence on the subject has done, and he intends to do something about it.
Denis Vlasenko and Valeria Repina lead the cast. The show is at its best when it lets the comedy breathe instead of explaining itself — a subject most Russian series step around, handled with actual nerve. Stream About This Very Thing (2025) online on iFILM.
