Synopsis
Eye of the Storm (疫起, 2023) is a Taiwanese drama from director Lin Junyang — watch it online on iFILM. Thoracic surgeon Dr. Xia (Wang Bai Jie) arrives at a hospital for an emergency call and immediately finds himself sealed inside: an unknown virus forces a full building lockdown, trapping hundreds of medical workers, patients, and their families.
The film draws from the 2003 SARS epidemic in Taiwan — the Hoping Hospital incident, when staff and patients were quarantined together for weeks with limited supplies and no clear timeline. Lin Junyang shoots it not as a disaster film but as a study in pressure: who volunteers to stay, who breaks the seal, who makes the impossible calls on no sleep. Zeng Jing Hua and Simon Xue co-star.
