Kin

Kin (1982) is a Soviet comedy-drama from director Nikita Mikhalkov — watch it online on iFILM. Nonna Mordyukova plays Maria Konovalova, a village woman who packs her bags and heads to the city to see her daughter Nina, played by Svetlana Kryuchkova. She's expecting family. What she gets is a stranger in a city apartment.

Maria's rural rhythms don't fit Nina's urban life, and the distance between them can't be measured in kilometres. Quiet resentments surface over shared meals. Arguments die before they start. A young Oleg Menshikov appears in a small role, early in what would become a landmark career.
