Synopsis
The Field of Enchantment (2011) is a French nature documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Marie Pérennou and Claude Nuridsany — the same duo behind Microcosmos. Denis Podalydès of the Comédie-Française narrates.
An overgrown pond at the edge of a village. Two lonely children find it separately, then together — and what looks like mud turns out to be a whole living world. Pérennou and Nuridsany shoot it with the extreme macro-photography that made Microcosmos famous: dragonfly larvae and water beetles filmed so close they look like something from science fiction.
