Synopsis
The Hottest Summer (2023) — watch online on iFILM — is an Italian romantic comedy-drama directed by Matteo Pilati, set at a seaside summer camp on the coast of Sicily. Lucia (Alice Angelica) turns up to volunteer as she does every year: she knows the routines, she knows the people, she has a plan.
Nicola changes that. He's a deacon days away from his ordination — good-looking in a way that draws the wrong kind of attention, and carrying something restless that the camp's easy pace doesn't settle. Gianmarco Saurino plays him as a man caught between a clear path and the thing he didn't plan for. The disruption he stirs in the community is partly comic, and partly something neither character can quite name.
