Synopsis
Theater Area (2025) is a Russian crime comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. The artistic director of a Tula youth theater staged such a spectacular opening night that the building burned down. A court gave him time. The one path to early release: stage Romeo and Juliet inside the prison, with inmates and guards split between the warring houses.
Nikita Kologrivyy plays the director trying to turn mortal enemies into co-stars. Vitaliy Khaev is among those using rehearsals as cover — a breakout plan is quietly taking shape while Shakespeare plays out on stage. Director Ashot Keshchyan keeps both storylines running at the same time: the production is real, the escape is real, and somehow neither gets in the way of the other.
