Synopsis
The Gates (2024) is a dark gothic horror you can watch online on iFILM. Victorian London, the close of the 19th century. A serial killer who believed black magic would bring back his dead wife is led to his execution.
Before the end, though, he lays a curse on the prison and everyone trapped inside it. With his last heartbeat, the cells, the guards and the inmates are sealed into one long night that releases neither the living nor the dead. The deeper it goes, the thinner the line grows between earthly punishment and whatever waits on the other side. John Rhys-Davies anchors a grim ensemble moving through corridors where every shadow seems to breathe.
Director Stephen Hall leans on suffocating period atmosphere, ritual dread and the idea of a debt coming due rather than cheap jump scares. This Irish production will land with fans of costume horror in the vein of Crimson Peak and old curse tales. Stream The Gates (2024) online on iFILM.
