Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors (2024) is a documentary you can watch online in good quality on iFILM. Beneath the fields of Shaanxi province, a clay army stood guard for two thousand years — thousands of life-size figures, and no two faces alike.
Director James Tovell follows the archaeologists still digging through the necropolis of Qin Shi Huang, the ruler who first welded China into one empire in the third century BC. The film climbs down into the pits, uses reenactments to show how workshops molded and fired each soldier, and lets researchers argue over what the sealed burial mound at the center still hides.
In a tight 77 minutes, it pieces together shards, weapons and pollen into a portrait of an empire obsessed with living forever. The runtime is lean, with no padding, so it fits a single evening. Good for anyone who likes archaeology without wild speculation and respects slow, careful work with the finds. Stream Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors (2024) online on iFILM.
