Synopsis
Dirty Lines (2022) is a Dutch drama series you can watch online on iFILM, set in Amsterdam at the tail end of the Cold War. Psychology student Marly Salomon picks up a side job at Teledutch — a startup run by brothers Frank and Ramon Stigter, who built what became Europe's first erotic telephone line business.
The brothers get rich fast. Marly finds herself caught between entrepreneurial momentum, sexual liberation, and her own shifting limits. The city around her is changing just as quickly: Amsterdam in the late 1980s is ground zero for house music and a new nightlife culture, with old social codes dissolving in real time. The anonymous voice on the other end of the line turns out to reshape the speaker as much as the caller.
Directed by Tomas Kaan and Pieter Bart Korthuis, the series handles its subject without moralizing — which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Joy Delima, Minne Koole and Chris Peters lead the cast. Stream Dirty Lines online on iFILM.
