Synopsis
Peacemaker (Rauhantekijä, 2020) is a Finnish political drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Antti-Jussi Annila. Ann-Mari Sundell spent her career as a conflict resolution adviser for the Finnish Foreign Ministry. She was ready to retire — until a UN mandate pulled her back for one final assignment.
The assignment sends her to Turkey to chair talks between Turkish and Kurdish parties. The negotiation table is fragile, the political pressure intense, and the window for any agreement is closing fast. At the same time, unresolved personal history starts bleeding into the work. Irina Björklund carries the role with striking restraint — a trained diplomat holding everything locked on the outside while something is coming apart underneath. The supporting cast, including Kardo Razzazi and Sampo Sarkola, keeps the human dimension of the conflict sharply in frame.
