Son of a Critch (2022) is a Canadian comedy you can watch online on iFILM, set in the working-class streets of St. John's, Newfoundland in the 1980s. Eleven-year-old Mark is short on money, stuck in a Catholic school run by strict nuns, and sharing a bedroom with a cantankerous grandfather.

He survives all of it with jokes. Mark dreams of stand-up comedy — a long shot from Newfoundland in 1985 — and the distance between that dream and his reality is where most of the laughs live.
