Synopsis
Smiley (2022) is a Spanish Netflix romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It all kicks off with one wrong voicemail: Álex, a hot-headed bartender, leaves a furious rant for his ex — and it lands instead on Bruno, a calm architect who never saw the call coming.
Two men who could not be more different, a loud, sun-warmed Barcelona around them, and a whole circle of friends each tripping over their own love lives. The show grew out of Guillem Clua's stage play and kept its quick, talky charm: it's more about awkwardness, fear of getting close and chances slipping by than about syrupy declarations. Warm, unpreachy, and rated TV-MA for grown-up viewers. Carlos Cuevas and Miki Esparbé lead the cast. If you want an easy queer rom-com to binge over a couple of nights, this fits.
