Synopsis
Social Network (Соцсети, 2023) is a Russian dystopian series you can watch online on iFILM. It unfolds in the city of Tomsk across three time slices — 2021, 2025 and 2030 — letting viewers peek at a future as its makers imagine it. Here phones never leave anyone's hands, and nobody recalls how to live without a feed.
The premise is simple and cruel. People can talk to the whole world, yet they only grow lonelier. The characters measure happiness through gadgets, swap real conversations for likes, track their moods in an app and slowly lose touch with anything they actually feel. Each jump forward in time shows how much deeper the dependence has sunk. Kirill Käro and Lyubov Aksyonova play people who never learned to simply be present without a screen between them.
The genre tag is honest: comedy, crime and drama braided together, rated 18+. It's a hard look at the cost of always being online, delivered without finger-wagging — funny in places, genuinely uneasy in others.
