Synopsis
National Theatre Live: Fleabag (2019) is a filmed stage performance you can watch online on iFILM — 81 minutes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge alone on the Wyndham's Theatre stage in London, running the one-woman show she wrote and performed herself.
Fleabag runs a guinea pig café that's barely surviving. Her friendships are fraying, her family is a source of low-grade damage, and she has a habit of confessing things to the audience that she can't say to anyone in her actual life. The play came before the Amazon series — this is where the character started, rawer and more theatrical, with no editing to soften the rhythm. The TV adaptation went on to win six BAFTA awards and six Emmy Awards; the stage show is what set that in motion.
