Synopsis
Podlezhit unichtozheniyu ("Subject to Destruction," 2019) is a Russian wartime series you can watch online on iFILM. In the autumn of 1941, with the front line grinding toward the capital, the high command reaches for something the enemy doesn't have: radio-controlled land mines, a new secret weapon whose manufacture is locked behind the strictest secrecy.
Sapper teams seed the ground along the advancing columns' path, and the attackers take staggering losses. Once word of the unseen threat reaches Hitler, he personally orders the device seized at any price. From there the story shifts into counterintelligence. NKVD operatives capture a German agent dropped behind Soviet lines and learn that the plant building the mines has been infiltrated — a spy inside is feeding blueprints to the enemy. He has to be found and stopped before the secret slips across the front. Aleksandr Yatsko and Dmitry Shevchenko head the cast. The show trades big battle set-pieces for the quiet war of intelligence: a turned engineer, an intercepted cipher, a minute before detonation.
