Synopsis
Weissensee (2010) is a German drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Friedemann Fromm. The action opens in East Berlin in 1980 — the Wall still standing, the Stasi still watching — and follows two families on opposite sides of the same system.
The Kapfers serve that system faithfully: the father and elder son are Stasi officers, while younger Martin (Florian Lukas) patrols the streets as a policeman. The Hausmanns are flagged dissidents: the mother, a folk singer, is under surveillance, and her daughter Julia (Hannah Herzsprung) is classified as politically unreliable. When Martin falls for Julia, a private romance becomes a problem for the state itself.
