Shots Fired is a 2017 FOX crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. A Black officer shoots a white teenager in a small North Carolina town. The press arrives before the investigation does. The Department of Justice sends two investigators — Preston Terry (Stephan James) and Ashe Akino (Sanaa Lathan) — to find out what actually happened.

What they find is a system that has been breaking down quietly for years. The sheriff's department has its own interests to protect, outside actors are circling, and the community was fractured long before this shooting made the news. Created by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood, the series deliberately inverts the usual racial script of American police-shooting dramas — and uses that inversion to ask harder questions about power and accountability.
