Synopsis
Hilda Hurricane (Hilda Furacão, 1998) is a Brazilian telenovela you can watch online on iFILM. On her wedding day in 1959 Belo Horizonte, a young model named Hilda Müller walks out on her fiancé and goes straight to the city's most notorious brothel. She offers no explanation. The conservative establishment mobilises: political pressure, organised protests, and parish campaigns to shut the place down.
A young novice, Friar Malthus, is sent to drive out whatever force possesses her. He falls in love instead. Watching it all is Roberto, a communist reporter who — in the book's construction — turns out to be the story's actual narrator.
