Synopsis
"A Small Light" (2023) is a National Geographic drama series you can watch online on iFILM, centered on a young Dutch woman named Miep Gies.
Miep is working as a secretary for businessman Otto Frank when he asks the unthinkable: hide my family. She says yes without flinching. What follows stretches across more than two years, as she, her husband Jan and a handful of others keep eight people alive in concealed rooms above the office in occupied Amsterdam. One of the hidden is a teenage girl named Anne Frank.
Bel Powley plays Miep not as a saint but as an ordinary person who keeps choosing the dangerous option, with Joe Cole as Jan and Liev Schreiber as Otto. It was Miep who later saved Anne's diary.
